LISA joined videographer Jon Blomgren and his team from Anvil + Iris to capture the first in our Visionaries, revealed video series. In a collaborative spirit of experimentation, Brendan Dunnigan (Senior VP, HKS Architects) and Clark Manus (CEO, Heller Manus Architects) kindly agreed to step in front of the camera and reveal their respective journeys of how they landed in architecture.

Both have contributed to shaping to the San Francisco skyline and mentioned the importance of listening as an essential skill for architectural success. We were intrigued to learn about the philosophy of Design Thinking as it applies to creating truly useful and inhabitable structures.

Whittling down 45 minutes of video content proved challenging as both men had fascinating perspectives on becoming and being an architect. We truly appreciate the efforts of Jon and his team and think he did an excellent job in delivering the how and why – all in under two minutes!
